Ten convicted of online harassment against Brigitte Macron

A court in Paris has found guilty ten people for engaging in the online harassment of Brigitte Macron, the partner of French President, Emmanuel Macron.
The those on trial faced accusations of spreading untruths regarding her sex and sexuality, in addition to publishing malicious remarks about the husband and wife's age disparity of 24 years.
The court delivered conditional custodial sentences of as much as eight months to the perpetrators. The complete verdict has still to be made public.
A circulating unfounded claim alleging that Brigitte Macron is a person assigned male at birth has spread widely since her husband's rise to the presidency in 2017.
This recent ruling in France coincides with the Macrons initiating a defamation lawsuit in the United States of America against political commentator Candace Owens, who has likewise promoted similar conspiracy theories about the Brigitte Macron's biological sex.
Their complaint alleges that Owens ignored any factual proof disproving her claim opting to platforming known conspiracy theorists.
Owens has regularly repeated these assertions on her digital program and social media channels, and in March 2024 declared that she would bet her whole career on her insistence that Mrs. Macron was born a man.
Brigitte Macron originally became acquainted with her current spouse when she worked as an educator at his secondary school.
The two married in 2007, when the future French president was 29 and she was approximately 54 years old.
